When we draw an analogy between the importance of the word “baggage” as it reflects a particular culture, we face the risk of grouping together positive elements that do not contribute to a convergence of thought.
In this scenario, we may carry unnecessary things, at which point baggage looks more like old obstacles to development. Sustainability advocates equality in the degree of importance of each topic, in relation to people. However, reassessing the issues that make up this agenda can revitalize the path so that we understand that the world we live in is the same world we lived in.
Taking this cue, if we remain stuck on concepts that separate more than unite, meetings like COP30 will not be instruments of change, they will only play the role of more of the same. For an effective ecological agenda in current times, awareness must permeate social classes so that humankind does not act as an enemy of nature, suffering the consequences of decades of abuse of the planet.
