Women in Sustainability

With the celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8th, within the context of this column we are curious to understand their connection with the demands linked to Sustainability. In a first analysis, it is natural to highlight the Sustainable Development Goals, making room for gender equality, its implications and challenges linked to the female universe.

Taking a closer look, this portion of the population is more involved in environmental issues and purchasing more sustainable items, as revealed by research from Yale University. However, every corner of the globe has situations that must be reviewed to generate an environment of security on a psychological and physical level, leveraging the development of a people.

In short, social transformation actions are not mature enough to provide changes at the speed necessary to put genders on equality, something that must be considered as an essential part of the public agenda.
