Demographic Alert

When we debug the recent results of the 2022 Brazilian demographic census, some signs are already able to alert us. With an eye on the socioeconomic aspect, the census confirms the tendency of the population to move towards life in large centers, with more than half of the people living in just 319 cities.

That said, the concentration of the population in these places justifies the need to focus on energy transition, mobility, responsible consumption, without forgetting food security. However, developing in a sustainable way the other portion that lives outside the big cities becomes a challenge of great relevance, bringing inclusion to the debate in a broader way.

Consequently, we must think about the country we want, observing the updates of demographic studies over the next few decades, discussing expansion plans and infrastructure for a people that envisions a representative increase in the elderly population in a century that is beginning to say goodbye to its initial phase.
