Biodiversity Time

While issues related to the climate agenda have their importance settled, biodiversity stands out as an international priority. It is in this direction that the global framework in this area will be discussed during COP 15, in December 2022 in the city of Montreal, Canada, where global guidelines are expected to address, in addition to other agendas, the extinction of thousands of species.

In this meeting, there is the intention to reach, among the participating countries, a common ground at the financial and regulatory levels, seeking for a harmonized path about tools and practice related to the agreed objectives and goals, without forgetting all the controversy generated about the sharing and use of genetic term which is called “digital sequence information” or DSI.

However, the output of this summit of this type should take into account the importance of having agribusiness as a partner to increase production to ensure the correct use of biodiversity.
