In the four corners of the world, different people are victims of climate change, being called climate refugees. It is in this context that we must observe the exponential increase of those who are excluded from any adaptation that anesthetizes drastic consequences already experienced, highlighting the case related to the flood in Rio Grande do Sul.
As such events happen, those who have better financial conditions tend to look for new places in privileged conditions, unlike the population without financial resources who will be relocated in a reactive and desperate way, which usually results in known complications.
Individuals who deny changes in the environment, doubling down by defending outdated consumption practices and aberrations such as nuclear tests, are already working together to avoid being literally suffocated by the ironic and sad “common future”, also seeking the profit opportunities that are created with the expansion of the planet’s climate decay.
