Project

With Bases on PMBOK® Sixth Edition

In this text, I get bases on the definition adopted by the PMBOK® to define the project.

The PMBOK® Guide defines Project as “a temporary effort undertaken to create a unique product, service or result.” It is worth remembering that the PMBOK® is published by PMI (Project Management Institute), Institute of Project Management. The term temporary refers to the engagement of the project and its longevity. The fact that it is unique is because each project has a characteristic that differentiates them from each other, with stakeholders, situations, different circumstances.

Based on your definition, a project can create a product, a service or the ability to perform, or a unique combination of one or more products, services, or results.

The figure below provides an overview of the creations of a project, based on the PMBOK® Sixth Edition.

To understand the PMBOK® Sixth Edition, interaction with your logic becomes necessary as a guide. When we have contact with this guide, we will see that it has 3 parts, distributed according to the table below.
